Re: [分享]
At the end of World War II , the Manufacture of machinery Upper Rhine ( Manurhin ) has started producing Walther pistols (PP, PPK and P38) that the German company could no longer produce.
Long after World War II, the French police were poorly equipped in handgun, most of them with pistols single action in 32 ACP . Although they were suited to concealed carry, their stopping power was much less adequate. Although the police are aware of these problems, the administration has not taken into account for several decades.
The situation began to change when, in the late sixties, Raymond Sasia, then director of the French National Police , visited the FBI . He was convinced that the 357 magnum revolver was the ideal weapon to use standard font where self defense is the primary use.
The creation of a new revolver French began in the early seventies, the company Manurhin working for it with the technical services of the national police. The requirements for this revolver were the quality, robustness, accuracy, so that the weapon can be used for both service missions for competitions.
This study produced the MR 73 . It was a remarkable success as satisfying all the requirements requested but this resulted in high manufacturing costs.
To produce a gun of more affordable, Manurhin has signed an agreement with Ruger , specialist carcasses cast by micro fusion, a process less costly than the manufacture by machining blocks of forged steel. This weapon was the CMA or Ruger Manurhin which included a Ruger frame and mechanism, other components are manufactured by Manurhin, gun, barrel etc.. Transfer of technological know-how was included in the agreement. The Manurhin F1 (Police official name) or Manurhin 88 (trade name) is still made by Chapuis Armes has acquired machinery and patents in 1999.
Know-how acquired through collaboration with Ruger on carcasses cast by investment casting has enabled the development of Manurhin MR 93 and MR 96
The most interesting aspect of the manufacture of MR 93 is that, once it was launched, each piece is machined on a CNC system specific, where the tolerances are automatically checked with lasers hundredth of a millimeter. Revolvers are assembled on receipt of an order, in four hours. This means that there is little or no manual adjustment.
The MR 93 has been marketed in 1993 . Its commercial failure and that the MR 96 has resulted in the decision to abandon the manufacture Manurhin weapons to refocus to its historic machinery manufacturing. |
