週六有一名婦人Pemberton Ice Cap發生意外.  Pemberton Ice Cap好像Glaribaldi Neve的地方, 在Yahoo key入這地方名字可找到照片.

詳情不太多, 可想像是冰上滑行了沒法制停.  這事令我回想到
有一些朋友到Joffre Lakes沒穿冰爪,沒繩索,沒冰稿,便走上冰川看裂縫.
很幸運地到現今也沒有發生事故.  

最可怕的是有一些人,走了上去,拍了照,上了網,說好好玩,自己走過是有危險,大家不要走呀. 說是叫人不要跟著走,但訉息簡直是叫人立即跟他一樣做.

轉貼這事故,希望大家不要嘗試. 在冰上行走和活動是要非常小心.

On Saturday, May 17th, 2008, Pemberton RCMP received notification of a death that occurred as a result of a 100' fall from a cliff on the Pemberton Ice Cap. Two women were sitting watching a view at the location at approximately 7 am on this day when suddenly their blanket began to slip on the ice. One of the women was lucky enough to stop herself from sliding down the slope but the other fell down a 100' cliff.

Near by Snowmobilers were quick to respond but despite first aid efforts,, were unable to revive the women who succumbed to her injuries.

In respecting the wishes of the family of the deceased, no names are being released in relation to this event.

The RCMP would like to remind the general public of the dangers of undertaking any outdoor activities in this region. It is important that anyone who will be out enjoying the recreational activities in the area, is well prepared and takes great care and caution to ensure preparedness and safety at all times.
