Sorry for the late response! I just found your posting.

For safety concerns MP3 is not allowed in Marathon run. It's kind of golden standard for all long distance race but I don't know how strictly the rule is. I didn't notice people around me used it but I heard nobody really checked. Anyways, live bands were much more entertained.

Yep, that was one of the nice features for this year. I voted for next year's bands in post-race survey cause the performances added much more enthusiasm and fun for the race.
