For external antenna, look for 3 things:
1 - price
2 - power consumption
3 - reception signal
When I brought mine, Garmin was a bit expensive.
I brought Mighty Mouse II (same quality, but cheaper
C$69.95).
I just check GPS Central web site.
http://www.gpscentral.ca/accessories/accessories.html
Garmin has introduced a new module GA 25 about C$31.95.
But no technical specification released so I cannot compare.
But really worth to have a look .
Since there are many third party antenna manufacturers, it
helps to drive the price down.
One more thing, there are two types of connectors that
connect the external antenna to your GPS unit - the MCX
or BNC. Anyway if you order through GPS Central or
elsewhere, just tell the module of your GPS, they know it.
I forgot what connector I am using. |
