For my understanding, if you cannot get a camp site on the Berg Lake trail, they won't give you the overnight permit. That is how they control the no of people on the trail.
Camp site can be booked 3 month in advance. Berg Lake trail is popular. During the prime season, like ours, camp site can be sold out very quickly, within one or two days.
We need action right now, may be it is already too late. It is critical. Otherwise, we cannot get the date we want. If we don't do it, we have to line up in the Mt Robson visiting centre as waiting list. It can be very frustrating

A friendly reminder the skyline trail is a piece of hot cake, camp site can be sold out within hours. :wink:

Are you going to book the camp site, when.
I am planning to do so tomorrow morning. Would you please give me instruction what should I do. Should I book as a group, how many people. Or just book for myself. Right now in Vancouver, including myself, there are at least three people show interest.
In my opinion, we have to secure the campsite first and then discuss the detail later. I would like to have your advice.

Thank you for your concern. I should be fine, I did that before.
I just want to make sure if I cannot book the exact date as we planned, three nights camping on Berg Lake July 27 -29, July 30 hike out, can it be any alternative, one or two days delay. Well we have to finish Mt Robson 5-days backpacking before Aug 2 . So that we can have enough time going home (either Toronto or Vancouver).
After secure the campsite, the detail planning, as an elite hiker, your help is essential.  :lol:

In the first day we covered 12 km from the Maligne lake parking lot to the Snowball campsite (total ascent 600 m). The second day was the hardest, as we had to walk for 19 km through two passes: Big Shovel and the Notch (the highest point of the trail and 2600 m) before reaching Tekarra campsite. Finally the third day we covered 13 km descending to the Canyon Hostel and the Maligne Road where we took a bus back to Maligne Lake.
