Brief Information of Bryce Canyon National Park:

Queen’s Garden and Navajo Combination Loop,中等难度,4.6Km,需时2-3小时。

3.        campgrounds
Best Western Ruby’s Inn Campground and RV park:20 S. Main St., Bryce, 866-8666616
www.Brycecanyoncampgrounds.com
Bryce valley KOA: 435-6798988 or 888-5624710
www.koa.com

Bryce Canyon

The washrooms were still under construction when we camped in North Campground.  So only blue portable toilets were available to use.  Remember to bring your own toilet paper.  Shower room & laundromat are in the General Store.  You need to drive to there.  Sunset cmpground is close to view points so it was full during our time.

Tiger,
Camping site: pay attention to camping sites outside the NP. In this way, u would have a backup place to stay. Most these outside NP camping sites have over flow areas. Do not need to remember camping sites inside the NP. U will know when u enter the NP. So u d better know where to find camping sites outside the NP.

Go to AAA to find camping maps. I have two maps for CA. The maps provides all camping sites locations. KOA is the most luxurious chain camping sites along freeway in West coast states. http://www.koa.com/

Showering: Most NPs in south do not have shower because of lack of water source. Your best bet is at the gas station along freeway. Go to those gas stations for trucks. They are for long distance truck drivers. Pay a little for shower.

The Fruita Campground is often described as an oasis within the desert. Adjacent to the Fremont River and surrounded by historic orchards, this developed campground has 71 RV/tent sites, each with a picnic table and grill, but no individual water. sewage or electrical hook-ups. An RV dump station, located near the entrance to Loops A and B, is open during the summer. Restrooms are heated and feature running water and flush toilets, but not showers. The nightly fee is $10.00, or $5.00 for Golden Age/Senior Pass and Golden Access/Access Pass holders. An accessible site is located in Loop B adjacent to the restroom.

Open year-round, the Fruita Campground is the only developed campground in Capitol Reef National Park and as a result often fills by early to mid-afternoon during the spring through fall seasons. Sites are first-come, first-served and self-serve, and campground hosts (located at the beginning of Loop A) are available to assist you during the summer season. We do not take reservations.

Start at the Bullfrog Visitor Center and learn some geology and natural history of the area. See Puebloan and pioneer artifacts. Go from Bullfrog to Carl Hayden Visitor Center at Glen Canyon Dam and go on a tour of the dam and check out a relief map of the area. Now that you can appreciate how huge the recreational area is, visit the Navajo Bridge Interpretive Center and take a walk across the historic Navajo Bridge. Look around for a California condor as that's the place to see one.

Step 2Stay at Lees Ferry Campground at one of 54 sites. Although not set up for RVs, there are bathrooms and potable water. Launch your boat about 2 miles away. For primitive camping, try Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping on a sandy beach or in dunes. Stanton Creek, Hite, Dirty Devil and Farley camping areas also offer primitive camping areas. Developed camping with hookups is available at Wahweap Developed Camping, Bullfrog and Halls Crossing.

Step 3Lees Ferry is the only place in Glen Canyon where visitors can drive to the Colorado River right up to the first "rapid" in the Grand Canyon. See Lees Ferry Historic Site just upstream from the Lees Ferry Launch Ramp. Different ferryboats and pioneers, miners, Indians and tourists crossed here from 1872 until 1928.

Step 4The Orange Cliffs portion of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, bordered by Canyonlands National Park, is one of the most scenic areas of the Colorado Plateau region. This is desert, so treat it as such. Be careful of hot temperatures and bring water. Tell a friend where you are and how long you will be gone.

Step 5Rent a boat from the park and boat on the deep turquoise waters of Lake Powell and fish. Since the Glen Canyon dam has been built, introduced species such as bass and crappie as well as walleye, bluegill and catfish thrive.

Step 6Drive the Burr Trail into some of Utah's most beautiful country. See the Henry Mountains, the Waterpocket Fold, red Circle Cliffs, and Long Canyon. The Burr Trail connects Bullfrog and Boulder, Utah, passes through the painted rock country of Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Capitol Reef National Park and Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument land. Drive another road. The Hole-in-the-Rock road ends at the dropoff into Lake Powell and runs from Escalante, Utah to the Hole-in-the-Rock on the western shore of Lake Powell

Rainbow Bridge is the world's largest known natural bridge. It is on Lake Powell, near the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. It was originally designated a national monument in 1910 by President Taft, and will be celebrating a centennial in 2010. Many of the activities have already begun.

Visit the Rainbow Bridge by boat. About 90,000 people a year visit the Rainbow Bridge by boat on Lake Powell. There will probably be more visitors for the centennial. Celebration started in August 2009 and will continue through 2010.

Step 3Know some history. The Rainbow Bridge was known to Native Americans for many years before it was discovered by a party led by Paiute guides and a trader/explorer who were searching for the bridge at the base of Navajo Mountain in 1909. The rugged terrain and extreme weather kept many from viewing the Rainbow Bridge until after World War II, when surplus rafts were used for a visit.

The Native Americans have long considered the Rainbow Bridge as a sacred religious place, and they request that it be visited in a respectful manner. The boat trip on Lake Powell does this--allowing the visitors to see the awe-inspiring natural and national monument without destruction, and with respect. Backpacking is also available

Capitol Reef

(Grand Canyon National Park)

CANYONLANDS NATIONAL PARK

(Canyonlands National Park)

Car
There are two paved entrances into Canyonlands: Highway 313 leads to the Island in the Sky, while Highway 211 leads to the Needles. Roads to the Maze are a mixture of graded dirt and 4WD. These roads may become impassable when wet.

Obtaining a River Permit
River permits are issued Monday through Friday from the Reservation Office in Moab, and may be received in advance by mail. When the Reservation Office is closed, the Island in the Sky Visitor Center can also issue river permits. Instructions for sumitting a request are on the reservations  page.
Obtaining Other Backcountry Permits
Permits (other than river) are issued seven days a week at district visitor centers. Permits can be reserved in advance. Walk-in permits are only available the day before or the day of a trip. Permits are issued up to one hour before the close of business each day.

Brief Information of Zion National Park:

Court of the Patriarchs, The Grotto, Great White Throne, Weeping Rock。

6.        campgrounds
每个营位每晚16USD(有电供应的18USD)。
Zion Canyon Campground and RV park:479 Zion Park Blvd, Springdale, 435-7723237
www.zioncamp.com
Zion River Resort RV park and campground: 551 East Hwy 9, Virgin, 435-6358594 or 888-8228594  有洗衣,淋浴,无线上网。
www.zionriverresort.com
